The only Tasmanian selected in last year's national draft, Brooke Brown will line up alongside fellow TSLW flag teammates Mia King and Daria Bannister as the Roos meet Collingwood under lights.
A talented basketballer, Brown had been planning to spend 2020 playing with the Launceston Tornadoes before coronavirus wiped out the NBL1 South season.
A stellar debut TSLW season, including a five-goal haul in the semi-final win over North Launceston, saw her taken with pick 49 and the rest is history.
"Twelve months ago I was still playing basketball I would never have really dreamt of the opportunity, but I'm super grateful and I'm just incredibly lucky to have ended up where I am," the 23-year-old said.
"It's been great - it's nice to be part of such a professional, elite environment, you get so much out of it and everyone was so welcoming and helpful when I first got there and it's like one big family.
"I'm really enjoying my time and North Melbourne so far."
Brown received the good news at training on Thursday night and was presented with her 'Shinboner number' and playing guernsey by ex-Roo Jamie MacMillan.
The news was equally well-received from her family back in Tasmania.
"They're all excited for me obviously - I called Mum and Dad and my Aunty when I found out after training last night so they're all pretty stoked for me and proud," Brown said.
"I'm just excited to get out there and hopefully have a good game.
"Everyone's been really keen this week - obviously it's a big game at Marvel Stadium on a Saturday night so the hype's been pretty unreal.
"I'll just be glad to run out there with the girls and hopefully get a good win."

Brown will wear guernsey 36 after donning the number eight for Launceston last year.
"Thirty-six was worn by someone that holds a place close to my heart so that's why I chose that number," Brown said.
Saturday's game starts at 7.10pm.
