Three-quarters of the way through the Cricket Tasmania Premier League season, only University's Ryan Lees (31) has more wickets than the Greater Northern Raiders paceman's 30, which have come at an average of 16.87.
Coronavirus-based program cuts may have ensured Chapman hasn't followed Jake Williams in becoming the Raiders' second-ever Futures League representative, but it hasn't shielded him from the eyes of state selectors.
The Westbury vice-captain was selected for two 50-over talent matches in Hobart last month and picked up two wickets at a good economy rate in both games.

Tasmanian Sheffield Shield coach Jeff Vaughan said while the state's pace stocks were as healthy as ever, Chapman's performances were not going unnoticed.
"He's certainly one that has been bowling very nicely for Greater North," Vaughan said.
"He's still second on the wicket list for grade cricket for the year, has played in all the different formats, played in some talent games down here on Bellerive Oval through January and certainly performed really well in those games.
"Like anyone it's about performance in grade cricket.

"We're very lucky we've got a very deep fast bowling brigade at the moment, so we've got a lot of bowlers who are trying to force their way into the [Sheffield] Shield side which is very beneficial for Cricket Tasmania."
Chapman is one of four Northern bowlers sitting in the CTPL's top five heading into round 22 with Lees, Alex Pyecroft and Ben Fraser all ex-Launceston quicks.
