Wild Game Harvesting
THIS subject is a tough one, but for me I love harvesting my own meat, I find that a responsible and humane hunter of whatever species you are after is a far better example of what humans should be doing. When it comes to animal protein, factory farming is a disaster.

Allowing someone to harvest their own meat responsibly should not be frowned upon.
I personally cannot supply my family with ethically sourced animal protein without hunting and gathering of wild game.
I understand that there are people that aren't respectful when harvesting wild game, but those people are the minority of hunters and fishers.
I also understand that there has to be a sustainable harvest plan to ensure the ongoing success of any said species being harvested.
But an all-out ban on the harvest of any said species does not help people who rely on wild game to survive both personally and in a business sense.
Cancel culture has become the norm in the modern world, but in my opinion it removes all discourse in coming to a happy medium between both parties for and against.

CBD statues
I AGREE with the mayor, people walk across the footpath and through the mall looking at their phones instead of at the ground like we did as kids.
People need to focus on their route and not on Facebook or social media when walking.
Like they say, you cannot put brains into statues.

Private hospital
AS far as the co-located private hospital proposal goes, it will only benefit those with private health insurance.
Patients reliant on the public benefit scheme (PBS)will not be able to access the new hospital.
StLukesHealth chief executive Paul Lupo said "we really need to be at the forefront of how we will deliver health going forward so that the next generation does not experience the same ailments that are present now".
That's wishful thinking at its best.
Ailments like cancer, MS, MND and the likes will be around forever, so the next generation are guaranteed to suffer the same ailments that are present now.
StLukesHealth would be better to open its own emergency department and provide treatment for patients reliant on PBS.

Commander Appointment
CONGRATULATIONS to Stuart Wilkinson, recently promoted Commander of the Northern police district.
I have known and worked with him over many years and it's great to see his work ethic, high level skills and proven ability recognised.
Moreover, it is refreshing to see this promotion is based solely on merit and not gender or nepotism.
Definitely a morale booster for serving members and a win for the Northern community.
