Tucked away in High Street at Oatlands is a hidden gem set to delight visitors to the region. The Imbibers, a wine and cheese bar, opened mid-2020.
Nathan McGiveron and partner Bradley Williams opened the business as a way to showcase Tasmanian wine and produce to locals and visitors passing through.
"All the alcohol is from within 60 kilometres as the crow flies from Oatlands, and all our food is Tasmanian as well, the whole of Tassie," Mr McGiveron said.

"It's to prove that we hold our own, we don't need anyone else and Tassie can do it, it makes people proud and people from interstate always are impressed."
Needing to renovate and restore the building, the process of opening the business took close to a year.

"Oatlands had no pub at the time, it only had the RSL, and I just had this feeling that with the distillery coming that this is a great opportunity to restore this building and give it a go," Mr McGiveron said.
"We thought we'd have good days and bad days but it's just been fantastic, we opened right at the end of lockdown we've been busy, we've employed three people.
"We've started seeing more people from interstate now, but the locals have been really supportive adopting it as their hangout spot. We're looking forward to what's to come."
