On Sunday, a 55-year-old man was killed when his motorcycle left the road at Scotchtown and he hit a tree, Tasmania Police have said.
On Monday, Acting Inspector Tony Stewart said it was understood the rider was part of a group charity motorcycle ride.
The man's death was one of two serious motorcycle crashes in recent days, as a man was airlifted to hospital following a crash on the Lyell Highway on Monday.
Inspector Stewart said emergency services attended the Circular Head crash about 2.45pm Sunday, but the rider was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"He'd been riding a Kawasaki motorcycle in a small group of other riders when he has failed to negotiate a bend and has collided with trees on the side of the road.
"It is my understanding the ride was a fundraising ride in the community which has had a tragic, tragic end."
He said there was a volunteer Ambulance Tasmania paramedic who applied first-aid to the rider and attempted, unsuccessfully, to revive him.
He also said initial police investigations had determined that speed may have been a contributing factor to the crash.
He asked that anyone with dashcam footage of the ride or the scene contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or the Smithton Police Station and provide that footage to investigators.
"This is a tragic event which has repercussions right throughout the community and our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends."
