A man has died after crashing his motorcycle near Smithton on Sunday afternoon.
A Tasmania Police spokesperson said about 2.45pm on Sunday emergency services received a call to a serious single vehicle crash on Trowutta Road at Scotchtown.
Tasmania Police, Ambulance Tasmania and the State Emergency Service responded.
The spokesperson said a 55-year-old Smithton man had died at the scene.

"The accident occurred when the 55 year old male was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle on Trowutta Road towards Smithton with a group other motorcyclists and left the road colliding with tree," the spokesperson said.
Crash Investigation Services and Forensic Services attended the scene and conducted a full examination, with Trowutta Road was closed for six hours and traffic diverted.
