About 400 players and fans turned up to the day, as 33 teams duked it out across four age groups.
Basketball Tasmania Northern development officer Nathan Brereton said while the quality of play was impressive, the most important stat of the day was the high level of fun had.
ELSEWHERE IN SPORT:
"Kids had fun playing basketball with their friends, the weather was beautiful and it's a fantastic facility at Riverbend," he said.
"Lots of younger teams were entered so we had quite a few under-12s and under-14 teams entered.
It was really good to see the next generation of ballers come through
- Nathan Brereton
With the three-on-three basketball format continuing to grow in popularity, Brereton said it was nice to see the event as a chance for young players to pick up the sport as a whole.
"It's a great way for kids to participate and learn the sport with less players and more space," he said.
Winners of each age group have punched themselves a ticket to the national Big Hustle championships to be held in Victoria later this year, COVID pending.
"That's to be determined ... 3x3 Big Hustle will do everything they can ensure it goes ahead," Brereton said.
"If that does go ahead, we'll have really good representation from our Tassie teams."
