The private high school has been offering aviation courses for about three years with students having the opportunity to help build a plane and use functional flight simulators.
The new purpose built facility will house the RV-12 plane students are building, extra flight simulators and is better located for people in the program, teacher Cameron Rogers said.
"The aviation program allows students to see how - their science, maths, engineers - a whole range of disciplines come together and develop their theoretical understanding and practical appreciation of aeronautical engineering," Mr Rogers said.
Headmaster Richard Ford said the school would be running after hours programs during the year for students with an interest in aviation who don't attend Launceston Church Grammar.
