Trout anglers welcomed news Lake Sorell was re-opened last Saturday after a temporary closure to allow further carp clearing.
This eradication will continue with further closures until any carp thought to remain are gone.
Access to Lake Sorell is available from the Dago Point and Mountain Creek sides, but western access via Silver Plains remains closed.
At Arthurs Lake, several anglers recently found little if any action near the surface at Pumphouse Bay.
Down the road, however, fly-fishers at Penstock Lagoon continue to spot many trout rising.
Even in miserable weather several days ago trout were busy everywhere taking duns hatching heavily.
Then at Dee Lagoon, Marine and Safety Tasmania advises that improvements being made will upgrade access for anglers.
Lake Sorell was re-opened ...
Heavy rain lifted levels of some northern rivers over banks - along with trout keen to find drowned terrestrial tucker, especially in sidewaters newly-flooded.
Particularly attractive are north-eastern rivers such as the Ringarooma, George and Scamander and major systems like the South Esk - especially in its upper reaches and in the Break O'Day and St Pauls tributaries.
Also likely are the Macquarie River down from Westmoor Bridge and its Lake River tributary.
Meanwhile, in the Tamar estuary King George whiting remain available near the mouth while farther up-river Australian salmon are being taken from boats and banks
