
A TRUCK driver was forced to act quickly last night after his truck caught on fire about 45 kilometres north of Launceston.
Firefighters of the Tasmania Fire Service were made aware of the truck fire at Rowella at 7pm on Monday.
A TFS spokesperson said the vehicle was parked at the time when the driver realised it caught alight.
They said he responded quickly and was not harmed during the incident.

"The fire was almost out when firefighters arrived," they said. Crews continued to assist the driver upon arrival to fully extinguish the fire.
The spokesperson said the cause of the fire was unknown at this stage. However, they said it is not being treated as suspicious.
