After registering just 11 points from two games in a COVID-shortened 2020, Tasmania Devils bolted to their first-ever NAB League Girls victory in Melbourne on Saturday.
The 10.11 (71) to 1.3 (9) win over Gippsland was headlined by Clarence young gun Amy Prokopiec, who finished with four majors after kicking the the first two and last two goals of the game.
The history-making round one win has the Devils top of the table ahead of a Bellerive Oval clash with Western Jets next weekend.
"I just think its a great reward for effort for the girls," Devils coach Cameron Joyce said.
"With the two heavy losses last year, quite a few of the girls played in those games so the relief - but also the belief - that it gave the girls was enormous.

"We certainly sang the song and sang it pretty hard, there's no doubt about that.
"We've certainly got to make sure we enjoy those times because come Monday we'll be back on the horse again ready to try and play well against the Western Jets in Hobart."
The Devils were dominant around the ground and conceded their only goal to a free-kick in the first quarter.
Naomi Vandenberg, AFLW academy member Perri King, Charlie Ransom, Jemma Webster and Northern pair Ella Maurer and Aprille Crooks all played well through the middle of the ground, while Kelsie Hill was solid down back.
Joyce said he had found it difficult to pick standouts from his 24 players.

"They all contributed to the win, every single one of them," he said.
"Over the 10-week period we've had the girls they're really bought into what we're trying to do and gelled really quickly together which gave them an opportunity to play well today.
"Probably the one thing that stood out was the pressure we constantly applied to Gippsland and that's something we'll be looking to do week in, week out to give ourselves a chance."
The Devils are still putting together their boys' squad for 2021, with a roster likely to be released in the coming weeks.
