Bryce Anderson Woodward pleaded guilty to one count of wounding about 10.45pm on October 3, 2020 at the Commercial Hotel in Launceston.
Crown prosecutor Jennifer Slevin said the victim would suffer permanent facial scarring as a result of the glassing.

Ms Slevin said Woodward was being escorted from the hotel by a security guard when he approached the victim who standing at the bar from behind and swung the glass into his face.
He suffered multiple lacerations to the inside of his mouth, nose, upper lip, eyelid and a three to four centimetre cut to his right cheek.
The court heard that Woodward was placed on a drug treatment order in August rather than serve an eight months custodial sentence for several counts of common assault, destroying property and family violence.
The drug treatment order was cancelled in October after Woodward first entered a guilty plea and he is serving the eight-month sentence.
Defence counsel Grant Tucker said Woodward and the victim had a few minor words during the evening.
"He was going well on the order but fell off the path, which has caused him a great deal of disappointment and remorse," he said.
He submitted that Woodward's action was reckless rather than an intention to wound.
Justice Robert Pearce said a victim impact statement revealed that the man's work and personal life had been affected.
"It was a dangerous and brutal act carried out for no reason," he said.
"The only mitigating factor is that you pleaded guilty and that is indicative of remorse."
Justice Pearce added 15 months to the Woodward's current sentence.
