The Bridport Village Green came to life on Monday night, as the Dorset Council handed out five accolades, hosted a barbecue and put on an event for children and adults alike. This year's ambassador was Don Marsh, who was the 2014 Volunteer of the Year for his work in surf lifesaving. In other news: Nearly 1000 people attended the event as Citizen of the Year Douglas Beswick was named, alongside Young Citizen of the Year Amelia Barnett and Volunteer of the Year Karen Rainbow. Before the Ringarooma School and District Show 2020 was named the Community Event of the Year. On the field, Scottsdale Football Club's under 12s team took out the municipality's sports award.
