The two sides will meet in the first of two Greater Northern Cup semi-finals at Latrobe on Sunday, with the winner progressing to the final against either Devonport or Latrobe.

Belinda Wegman's Knights are flag favourites having won the past five Greater Northern Cups, but the Tigers pose a formidable opponent.

Montana Bradley and Mel Scolyer lead the Cricket North-West batting charts with 200-plus runs each, while Tigers bowlers occupy the competition's top four bowling rungs.

Wegman, whose Knights are unbeaten this season, said her side was up for the challenge.

"We just take each match as it comes and finals are different - we've just got to train and play extra which we've been doing," she said.

Wegman named Raider Meg Radford, 17-year-old Alice McLauchlan and 14-year-old sensation Ava Curtis among the Knights' biggest improvers this season.

"Meg Radford has been a standout for us this season with bat and ball - she's gone really well with Raiders and that's followed on into our team and vice versa," Wegman said.

"Alice has been bowling really well with us and Ava Curtis is our little young gun - she's been going really well, getting a go at Raiders and she's our up-and-comer.

"Ava's only been playing for two seasons - she's a natural sportswoman but she loves her cricket, trains hard and she listens.

"Ashlee Scott is playing her first final - she's one of our junior players coming up through the ranks which is nice.

"She's been playing for a couple of seasons as well and we're working with her to give her more experience."
