However, many of the events are ticketed due to COVID-19 attendance limits so be sure to get in fast.

Kayakers will race down the Cataract Gorge from 2pm, with races ending at 4pm for the Cataract Gorge Extreme Race.

The council will be holding its award ceremony from 10am at the Portland Hall, St Helens with ambassador Robyn Moore.

The night before Australia Day, the council will hand out its awards at the Country Club from 6pm with entertainment by the Deloraine Big Band.

Westbury RSL will be hosting a breakfast from 7.30am.

Chudleigh Hall will also host a breakfast from 8am.

The council will host a free event from 11.30am at Boucher Park, Avoca.

It will feature the presentation of the council's awards and volunteer recognitions, ambassador Jane Stephens, a citizenship ceremony, a barbecue and children's entertainment.

The night before, the council will hand out its awards at the Bridport Village Green from 6pm with a barbecue, live music from Gypsy Rose and children's activities.

The Bridport Splash will take place at Goftons Beach from 10am, with a range of activities on offer including a mechanical surf board.

The morning will be full of breakfast, council awards and new citizens from 8.30am at the Graham Fairless Centre, with guest speaker Heather Francis.

Before a free pool party kicks off from 12pm-4pm at George Town featuring laser tag, water races, games, dancing, swimming and prizes. You had to get in fast for this one though, as sadly all of the tickets have gone.

Ambassador Will Smith from JCP Empowering Youth will speak, there will be breakfast on offer, council awards and new citizens welcomed at Riverside Golf Club from 7.30am.
