Nominations for the awards - the only state-wide awards program in the sector - opened up today and encourage the recognition of overwhelming volunteer contributions.
Volunteering Tasmania Chief Executive Officer Lisa Schimanski said the awards were an opportunity to offer something back to those who offer so much.

There are 10 different categories for the awards, with new classification Youth Volunteer Award added for 2021.
The other categories range from arts, to Emergency Services, environment, education, science and technology, community and health, management, volunteer group or program, sport and lifetime achievement.
Last year environmental award nominee Toby Thorpe went on to be recognised as Young Australian of the year at the Tasmanian Australian of the Year awards.
Nominations for the awards can be made at volunteeringtas.org.au/tasmanian-volunteering-awards-2021/ and will close on midnight March 15.
