Van dongen won her first race as a trainer - with only her fourth starter - when Art Frenzy led all the way in the Ladbrokes Racing Centre Pace.

She also drove the six-year-old to his narrow win over Black Ops and Earl Dujon.

Van dongen drove a double in Hobart last Sunday night after four days earlier leading in Devonport Cup winner Newhart in her 'day job' as a strapper for thoroughbred trainer Leanne Gaffney.

The 25-year-old has ambitions to become an apprentice jockey which she intends to pursue when her original boss Barry Campbell returns to training mid-year.

Adrian Duggan took training honours at the meeting, landing a good-priced double with Lutetia Midfrew and Illawong Archilles, both driven by Mark Yole.

Michael Laugher got a one-two result in race 4 with Emjays Black Chip and Christian Jaz that returned a best-tote quinella dividend of $41.90 and a best-tote exacta of $80.70.

Only one favourite was successful in the seven races.
