That's because the Van Diemens Street Rod Club of Launceston will be rolling into town for their annual USA and Aussie muscle car show at UTAS stadium between 10 and 2pm.

The car show will front up for the 31^st consecutive year and club spokesperson Jane Leech said it was playing out to be the biggest show yet.

"We probably average about 15-200 vehicles from around the state," she said.

"But this year we are expecting even more."

Launceston's Westbury car show and GM and Monaro show from late in 2020 attracted overwhelming numbers and Ms Leech is confident the club's Sunday show will capture the same car show boost.

"Everything's been shut down and so hopefully everyone's going to go 'oh, great, something's on, let's go'," she said.

Ms Leech said, typically, about 2000 people come along to the shows and door sales go to a charity of the club's choice every year.

All makes of cars, across all years, are open to come to the show so long as they represent some king of muscle and a rare two-door 1950 Chevrolet (pictured) will be shown at the show for the first time.

Alongside the cars on show there will be a band playing, opportunities for food and beverages, and with the sun still shining an ice cream truck will be serving up ice cold treats.

Those who choose to bring their car to be in the show are granted free entry though there is a fee for the public. Adults will need to fork out $10 but children under 14 are free.
