Strathlynn is being listed by Launceston property group Shepherd & Heap Commercial, and listing agent Joel Harwood does not expect it to be available for long.
"We've had similar listings lately that had a good amount of interest and enquiries from locals and mainlanders," he said.
"And this one is probably the best offering of them all.
'We expected that an offering such as this will attract good interest from experienced operators and local foodies who have a passion for Tasmania's extraordinary produce."
The venue is 20 minutes and about 17 kilometres from Launceston and is an unobtrusive and long-standing feature of the Tamar Valley wine region.
"The major drawcard is the position and the incredible views of the Tamar it offers," he said.
"It is perched nicely and nestled between the vines but still with view over the river.
"On a good day, you wont really find anywhere quite like it."
Mr Harwood said, despite the storied history of Strathlynn the venue was fitted out with a fully equipped kitchen and other plant and equipment came as part of the deal.
The function centre is particularly well known for holding weddings and wine related events and has been home to various restaurants and wine centres including a fine dining experience held by renowned chef Daniel Alps.
The function centre was previously being leased by the Rosevears Hotel owner Allan Virieaux but a spokesperson for the hotel said there were multiple reasons the choice was made to move on from the premises.
They said Mr Virieaux had made a decision to focus his attention on the hotel after it became more complicated due to COVID-19 to host weddings, the main business the hotel did at Strathlynn.
The property is owned by Kreglinger Wine Estates and many Kreglinger group wineries are a short drive from Strathlynn.
