Short was again below his best in Thursday's loss to Sydney Thunder at Optus Stadium with 19 from 16 balls, although he played a major role with the ball with his left-arm wrist spin picking up 3-26 from four overs.
The 30-year-old's BBL10 total stands at 141 runs at 15.66 with a strike-rate of 123.68, numbers that are well below par for the dynamic opener.
He has had an impact with the ball, with Thursday's haul taking him to six wickets at 24.33 for the tournament.

Despite his low numbers with the bat, Griffith said there was no thought of moving him away from the top of the order.
"Every batter is always concerned when they don't make runs for a few knocks in a row, but we have the utmost faith in D'Arcy that the best spot for him is up the top,'' he said following the 39-run loss to the Thunder.
"We actually think he is hitting them really well, but he just has to spend a bit more time at the crease and that will come for him and we know the quality player that he is.
"We know the class of the player and he will come through shortly."
Thursday's loss was the low point of the competition for Hobart, which looked to be on track in the run chase at the halfway point, before a late stumble that took the gloss from a great fightback with the ball after Alex Hales and Usman Khawaja at one stage had the Thunder on track for a score of more than 200.
The Hurricanes lost Riley Meredith in the warm-up due to bruised ribs, but Griffith said his pace ace would likely be available for Tuesday's clash with the Perth Scorchers, where he said getting those batting partnerships right would be key. The match against the Scorchers will start at 7.15pm.
Meanwhile, the Hurricanes' rematch with the Thunder on January 18, has been moved from Sydney Showgrounds to Manuka Oval.
