Finishing second in their pool to eventual champions New Town last year, coach Alistair Taylor believes the group he's assembled can take out the tournament.
"We've got a pretty good group, there's a lot to pick from, so the expectation would be to play in a grand final I reckon," he said.
The Raiders' youth start their campaign, which sees them play eight T20 matches compared to last season's four one-dayers, against New Town and Glenorchy at UTAS Stadium on Thursday.

"When you get to play on an elite surface, hopefully it will bring out some of the best in the boys," Taylor said.
"Some of them have already played on it with the senior Raiders boys but there will be a few boys there it will be a first time playing on an elite first-class surface."
Headlining the 18-player squad are regular Greater Northern Raiders first grade players James Simpson, Cooper Anthes, Will Bennett and Spencer Hayes with Taylor predicting big things from two of his up-and-comers.
"I reckon one to watch will be Angus Foster from South Launnie, he's a really good young player and T20 is his sort of game so he'll put on a good show hopefully.
"There's another young boy, Arie Schoenmaker from Riverside, he's only 16 but he's six foot-plus and bowls pretty fast."
