The Hurricanes speedster, who was sitting equal third on the wicket taking list heading into Wednesday night's Scorchers versus Sixers contest with 12 wickets at 18.83, will come up against the dynamic opening pair of Usman Khawaja and Alex Hales for the second-placed Thunder.
That duo is the second best opening pair in BBL history [behind Hurricanes Matthew Wade and D'Arcy Short] with 856 runs in 24 games with an average partnership of 35.67 and strike-rate of 144.11, with Hales this summer scoring 243 runs at 34.71 with a strike-rate of 176.08 and Khawaja 164 runs at 27.33 with a strike-rate of 130.15.
Then there's skipper Callum Ferguson [243 runs at 40.05 and a strike-rate of 122.11] and Oliver Davies who will provide another challenge to the Hurricanes' bowling group at Optus Stadium.
"We will come up with a few plans for those blokes and hopefully we can get them early,'' Meredith said on Wednesday.
"It will be a good challenge though and interesting and if I am bowling well I will definitely fancy myself no matter who the batsman is so hopefully I can get it up there quickly and get it swinging and see what happens."
It will be a different lead-up for Adam Griffith's side, with a midnight Wednesday arrival in Western Australia before Thursday's match, but the 24-year-old Meredith said that would not have a negative impact.
He was looking forward to what is usually a fast wicket and believed there would also be some excitement for D'Arcy Short when it came to returning to the venue. Short scored 103 from 70 balls in his home state last summer against the Scorchers, and would be looking for more of that sort of output having scored just 122 runs this BBL.
"He has been smacking them in the nets, but it is just one of those things as he is just finding a way to get out at the moment, so I am sure that a big score is on the way and we are backing him the whole way,'' Meredith said.
Meredith is part of a powerful bowling group at the Hurricanes, which also features Nathan Ellis [12 wickets at 20 in BBL10], Scott Boland [nine wickets at 25.11], the injured James Faulkner [eight wickets at 16.50] as well as spinners Johan Botha [three wickets at 25.33], Sandeep Lamichhane [three wickets at 24.66] and Wil Parker.
"Any of us can bowl at any stage of the game which is really handy for Pete [captain Pete Handscomb] and we have consistently been able to take wickets and defend low scores, which is really promising,'' Meredith said.
The Thunder could be without Daniel Sams due to concussion.
