The Blacker family is synonymous with racing at Longford and now has its name on the town's iconic sporting trophy eight times.
Class mare Glass Warrior's runaway win in Friday's $25,000 Longford Cup gave trainer John Blacker his fourth win in the race. He has also been successful with Raami's Magic (1996), The Producer (2014) and Triple Strip (2019).
His brother Troy won with Dream Pedlar in 2009 and their father George won with Bevan Heights (2010 and 2011) and Omega Quest (2013).
This year's race was also a triumph for Longford-based apprentice Kyle Maskiell who has made a successful comeback to racing after retiring for four years.
"We're a couple of local boys so this meeting means a lot to us," Maskiell said.
"It's pretty special to win the main race."
