A German national has been charged with the murder of a 49-year-old Launceston woman who was found dead at a residence in Wellington Street on Boxing Day.

Tasmania Police said a man, 27, and woman, 25, both from Germany were arrested on Monday.
They said the woman was interviewed and released unconditionally, while the man was interviewed and charged with murder.
He will appear in the Launceston Court of Petty Sessions tonight.
On Saturday, Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania responded to a Triple-0 call at 8.40pm reporting a death at the property.
Tasmania police said results of a post-mortem investigation revealed the woman was murdered.
A crime scene was declared at the residence, and was forensically examined by Tasmania Police and Forensic Science Services Tasmania.
