Normally the Boxing Night spectacular is well into the season and competitors have had multiple opportunities to sort their cars out but the super sedan competitors went into this meeting with only one night of racing behind them.

Harper went on the attack and tried several passing moves yet none came to fruition, running wide in turn two as Steve Latham pounced and grabbed second.
Robert Bird was in fourth however was quickly passed by Laura Davidson with Davidson was being challenged by David Nichols.
A mid-race stoppage brought the field back together and then with five laps remaining of the 25-lap journey Harper pulled infield with mechanical issues.
At the front Beechey had his hands full fending off Latham, winning in a tight finish from Latham with Davidson in third.
Beechey dedicated the win to his father, motorsport stalwart Ian, who passed away earlier in the year.
The Titch Jordan Memorial for formula 500 was won by Dylan Beveridge who was challenged early by Adam Burr.
Burr passed Beveridge on lap 12 however back in the pack Jayce Breen had heavy contact with the wall causing a stoppage.
