Hadspen's Brent Cole pulled into the Macca's to grab some lunch, unaware he was about to go into the draw to win the money.
"It was a big shock," he said.
"I actually just got lunch. I didn't realise I had even entered it.
"This will make a massive difference to our lives, I will spoil my fiance and son a little for Christmas, but most of it will go into some renovations for the house. I have some bad long-term injuries and can't do the work around the house that I want done so I'll be able to pay someone to do it now."
IN OTHER NEWS:
To enter customers have to spend $10 or more during December to win one of the 10 daily $10,000 prizes.
Mr Cole was automatically entered, as he ordered his meal via the MyMacca's app.
He said he only found out he had won after a friend contacted him and told him to check his emails, after they saw his name on a winner's list.
"I was a little bit skeptical at first and then I checked the actual app site and I thought oh okay, if it's on there and my name's there it's gotta be real," he said.
"I've never won anything over $50 in my life."
South Launceston licensee Steven Nicholas said he was excited to hear a local customer had won.
"We're really excited one of our lucky South Launceston McDonald's customers has won $10,000," he said.
"[It] can often be an expensive time for many people and we're very pleased to be able to give local residents ... the chance to win some extra cash."
