The Launceston Nepali Cricket Club was loosely founded in 2015, but became part of the TCL A-Reserves in 2019 before merging with the A-Grade competition in 2020. From five members initially, the club has expanded to 50 players as well as 100 non-playing members.
LNCC secretary Maheshwar Parajuli said it was great to have cricket be a platform for socialising between members of not only the Nepalise community but the wider community as well.
"We're just trying to get to know our local community better through sport," he said.

LNCC advisor Prasanta Khanal said the club had a great membership base in Mowbray and Newnham, with other members travelling as far as George Town to play.
"We are a very welcoming club, not just for Nepalise people - anyone is welcome to join," Khanal said.
The LNCC sits at sixth on the A-Grade ladder with a 4-4 record and 18 points.
