BeerFest:
One of the biggest events of the night will be the beloved BeerFest, back with a different format to accommodate COVID-19 restrictions.
The event will be held at Royal Park, alongside Boags Brewery on William Street, and a third event at Riverbend Park.
Festival director James Harding said tickets had become available due to refunding ticketholders living in New South Wales. The residents would be unable to make the event because of the northern beaches COVID-19 outbreak.
"We have got the event all approved which is great and we are able to have 2000 people at each event which is excellent as well," he said.
Mr Harding said the organisation of three festival events was the most challenging the team had faced but he hoped they would also be the most rewarding.
"Tasmania is really becoming the number one state to spend Christmas and New Year's," he said.
For more information on the three event outlines and tickets visit launceston.beerfestivals.com.au.
Country Club Tasmania:
Another local occasion that promises to be an enjoyable way to send off 2020 is Country Club Tasmania's New Year's Eve event which will feature free live entertainment from The Saxons and Cuban Heel on the Rooftop Deck, and DJ SupaNova.
Country Club has also partnered with World Street Eats to extend to the outdoors and bring a small Street Eats event to the night. There will be six stallholders offering tasty food.
World Street Eats organiser Pearl Chinthammit said this was the first time the event had partnered with Country Club and she was excited to be a part of it.
"I look forward to spend the evening with them," she said.
Country Club's marketing manager Steven Neville said the event would include the traditional midnight fireworks too, with the festivities kicking off from 6pm.
"It's definitely fantastic to have the event still running and definitely great timing with the return of dancing and vertical drinking," he said.
"We are also able to support up-and-coming bands."
The event will be more catered towards those over 18 but families may enjoy heading there early to get some tasty food and enjoy the community spirit.
