This follows the standing down of two other Northern public servants in the past 10 days for historic child sexual abuse allegations.
A state government spokesperson said the recent allegation had been referred to Tasmania Police.
"Principles of natural justice and other legal considerations demand that further comment is not made whilst the investigation is underway," they said.
"We also need to make sure that we fulfil our duty of care to our employees and to not prejudice investigations."
A Northern public servant was stood down from work on December 4 due to a historic child sexual abuse allegation identified under a claim to the National Redress Scheme.
A second state service employee was stood down from work on Thursday for an abuse allegation said to have occurred more than 10 years ago.
