After two wins from two games in purple, life as captain of the Hobart Hurricanes has been pretty nice to Peter Handscomb.

Joining the side from the Melbourne Stars in the off-season, the 29-year-old described the transition into captaincy as a recruit as "pretty simple" thanks to the work of his bowling unit.
"It has its challenges but the beauty about this side and walking into it is, as a captain, I don't really need to do too much because the bowlers are quite well experienced," he said.
"They understand the fields that they want to bowl to and obviously the balls they want to bowl to match those fields so I basically just put them at the top of their mark and they do their job. It's pretty simple from there."
Travelling up the Midland Highway to Launceston following victories over the Sydney Sixers and Adelaide Strikers at Bellerive Oval, Handscomb's Hurricanes are set for return clash against the latter at UTAS Stadium on Tuesday night - playing them twice in three days.

Sunday's match-up saw them complete an 11-run win, with a record 61-run 10th-wicket partnership from the Strikers tightening the result after a booming Hurricanes start in which D'Arcy Short scored 72 off 48 balls.
"To get 170-plus batting first at daytime at Blundstone was a bloody good effort and obviously D'Arcy Short was sensational up the top there.
"Our bowling right from the start was spot on. Maybe we could have iced the game a little bit early had Dan Worrall and Briggs not got going but it was some impressive hitting from them."
Both sides welcome key inclusions into their sides with Hurricane Ben McDermott returning fresh off an unbeaten 107 against India for Australia A while the Strikers gain Alex Carey who captained the second-tier national team.
Handscomb, who has represented Australia on 40-occasions, said he is excited to see what McDermott can do for the Hurricanes going forward, while the work of Greater Northern Raider Tim David has also pleased him - having scored 58 from 33 balls on debut.
"It was awesome to see Timmy make his debut for the Hurricanes and he hit the ground running," Handscomb said.
"Yesterday as well, he came in at the back end and was able to score runs really quickly so he's owning his role and doing what the team needs.
"If he can continue doing that for the rest of the Big Bash, that would be pretty bloody awesome for us."
The 7.15pm match marks Handscomb's second visit to Launceston, having played for the Stars in a rain-affected win last season.
