Former Hobart Hurricanes captain Sasha Moloney will have her first outing in the orange at Latrobe Recreation Ground on Sunday, with her inclusion set to be an important one.
The 28-year-old will provide an experienced head for Darren Simmonds' side against a Clarence outfit which has plenty of first class experience at its disposal in what will be the first 50-over game for many of her teammates.
"We are certainly looking forward to having Sash on board and I know she is very much looking forward to playing with us after being injured earlier in the season,'' Simmonds said.
"Our players loved having Corinne [Hurricanes skipper Corinne Hall] in the team earlier in the season and that will be the same with Sash.
"The players did learn so much on and off the ground with Corinne and they are the sort of things you just can't coach."
Simmonds said with Moloney, who is originally from Longford, there was plenty of passion and belief for the Raiders program, which has brought together the best North-West and Northern cricketers to compete in Tasmania's premier competition.
"One thing about about Sash is that she is just very passionate about club cricket and that is tremendous,'' she said.
"She obviously started in club cricket in the North when club cricket was still in its infancy and she had to move south to further her cricket career, but it really has come full circle now that the Raiders are in existence and she is the ideal person to have back playing with the Raiders when she can."
Moloney is coming off a WBBL06 campaign where she made 94 runs at 15.66 at a strike-rate of 87.03 with three wickets at 26 with an economy rate of 6.59.
Simmonds said she would open the batting alongside Raiders skipper Caitlyn Webster to go with her "quality off-spin".
The step up from a handful of 40 over games to 50 overs this summer, on top of a moving on from the Twenty20 part of the season [which saw the Raiders record four wins] will also be a challenge.
Only Moloney and Emma Mannix-Geeves have experience at that form of the game, with Hall and Belinda Vakarewa unavailable due to injury.
"Some of the girls would be thinking about that and it could be daunting for them, but it is still a game of cricket at the end of the day.'' he said.
"The basics still apply to the game, it is just spread over a lot longer format than most of the girls are used to [so] it is a massive change, but something the girls are really looking forward to."
Clarence has the experience of Erin Fazackerley, Emily Smith, Hollie Armitage, Heather Graham and Emma Thompson at its disposal, another challenge the team was looking forward to.
Sunday's match will start at 10.30am.
