House of Arras' E.J. Carr Late Disgorged 2004 was awarded top honour by in Decanter's Wine of the Year 2020 Tasting
Chief wine maker Ed Carr said it was amazing to be recognised in such a well respected competition.

"In all seriousness they don't come much better than that," he said.
"To get an endorsement like that from such a credible wine magazine, with very experienced judges [and] up against competition from all around the globe is just absolutely fantastic."
Mr Carr said age was the critical factor in the quality of the win.
"There are two things that drive this along - that is Tasmanian vineyards and our wine making style which includes that very long ageing," he said.
"We've long wanted Arras to be very much present on the global market and to get an international award such as this, against the worlds best peers, is fantastic support for the philosophy of the brand."
He said Tasmania had become the epicentre for the top end of Australian sparkling wine.
"For Arras to be seen at the forefront, or part of the forefront, of taking those wines to the world, I just think is absolutely stunning," Mr Carr said.
