Opposition racing spokesman David O'Byrne says the State Government tried to "con" the racing industry into believing it was receiving additional financial support during the 10-week COVID-19 shutdown.

O'Byrne said in fact there was "no new money" in the so-called assistance package.
"Racing Minister Jane Howlett has finally confirmed that no additional support was provided to the racing industry, despite the government's decision to shut down the industry for months," he said.
"The Liberals have repeatedly claimed to have delivered a multi-million dollar support package to the industry.
"(But) the Minister confirmed in Budget Estimates hearings (on Thursday) that this was not new money - it came from Tasracing's existing budget.
"The Budget papers left the Minister with nowhere to hide.
"Not a single cent of additional support has been provided to the racing industry, despite the devastating impact of the shutdown.
"It was always a cruel hoax to claim the government was supporting the industry during the shutdown and that hoax has (now) been exposed."
Tasmania was the only state in the country to shut down racing completely in response to COVID-19.
BULLOCK DOMINATES WITH FIVE WINS
Another top performance from Definite Signs helped leading trainer Anthony Bullock win five of the seven greyhound races at Friday night's combined meeting in Devonport.
"His win was the highlight for me - he was very unlucky and should have finished closer in his heat of the Devonport Chase and he's now won twice since," Bullock said.
"He got beaten four lengths behind Kintyre and Recall in his Chase heat but it should have been no more than two lengths.
"It was a big step down in grade (tonight) and he got the rail which he needs."
Bullock won a race in Melbourne with Definite Signs in June while the Tasmanian industry was shut down.
"I wouldn't say he was destined for any great heights but he's now won 11 races and been a good money-spinner," the trainer said.
Definite Signs paid $6.90 on the tote and held out the favourite Drumroll Please to score by almost a length.
Bullock's other winners were White Poison ($2.20), Just Mercy ($5.80), I'm A Dominator ($1.60) and Dewana Macca ($3.70).
His five-win haul represented almost 72 per cent of the program, a statistic he described as "not bad".
The other winners were Ted Howard's Winklee Hugo ($2.40) and Lynden Nichols' Charlie Sparkles ($2.30).
DEVONPORT CUP IN HILLIER'S SIGHTS
Smart pacer Lip Reader made light work of the main race on the harness program and could be back in Devonport in January chasing a much richer prize.
Trainer Rohan Hillier has his sights on next month's $30,000 Golden Apple at Mowbray and the $30,000 Devonport Cup on January 17.
Lip Reader began safely from 10m in the Discretionary Handicap to settle sixth before Hillier moved three wide at the 1000m to work to the death.
He headed leader Black Centurian approaching the home turn and went on to beat that horse by 3m with Perfect Mach a head away third.
Four-year-old mare La Toison Dor gave Wesley Vale trainer John Castles a good start to the meeting when she sat outside Karalta News in the opening race and beat him by a nose.
It was La Toison Dor's second career win and her first since transferring to the Castles stable early in the year.
Smithton harness racing stalwarts Trevor and Marjorie Leis added another winner to their long list when Gordievsky Leis opened his account in race two.
Although he started inside the second row, driver Rohan Hadley quickly angled off the pegs and whipped around to the front after travelling about half a lap.
The well-backed Gordievsky Leis ($8 to $5) then held on to beat the favourite Raining On Ringo by a head.
