Despite the new dwellings, the latest figures show 3373 households are on the waiting list for social housing.
Fifty-seven new dwellings were completed this quarter, compared to 115 in the April-June quarter.
In other news:
Housing Minister Roger Jaensch said the government would continue doing all it could to increase the supply of housing in the state.
Between July and September 14 existing dwellings were also repurposed for social housing.
Nine low income households were assisted to build and buy their own home for the first time through HomeShare and Housing Tasmania, 12 accessed subsidised private rentals and 28 were assisted under the Rapid Rehousing program.
However in the April-June quarter, 17 low income households were assisted to build and buy their own home, 45 accessed subsidised private rentals and 33 were assisted under the RR program.
