From Baghdad bureau chief to Tasmanian PTSD advocate, Dean Yates plays role in Julian Assange defence

The video released by Wikileaks in 2010 shows a US Apache helicopter gun down two Reuters staff in Baghdad. Dean Yates, who lives in Evandale, was their bureau chief - and his evidence is part of Julian Assange's extradition defence.

It's impossible to find anywhere more removed from Baghdad at the height of the Iraq War than hiking in the Cradle Mountain National Park.
