Launceston-born Courtney Webb sits 15th on the run-scoring list with 246 from her 13 matches for Melbourne Renegades at an average of 30.75 and a player-of-the-match top score of 54 not out in a super over derby win over the Stars.
In Saturday's six-wicket victory over the Sydney Sixers, Webb steered her side home with an unbeaten 46, claiming the winning runs with five balls remaining with her fourth boundary.
However, it was her performance in the field which grabbed most attention as Webb, who turns 21 next week, spectacularly claimed the wicket of Sixers superstar Ellyse Perry with a superb diving catch.
Adopted Tasmanian Ed Cowan led the chorus of approval when he Tweeted: "Come back to me in March and if this isn't catch of the season, we must have witnessed something pretty special in the meantime."
Cowan's former Test teammate Trent Copeland responded: "Bang on I reckon, Ted. Unbelievable grab plus a serious innings to go with it. Webb has (flag of Australia) player written all over her."
Webb, who also played a couple of games for Carlton in the AFLW, has represented Australia at under-19 level and is contracted to South Australia for 2020.
Launceston College was among those who shared footage of the catch on social media, adding: "We love seeing our past students doing amazing things."
