A 24-year-old man from Invermay was alleged to have evaded police at a breath testing site on Wellington Street just after midnight.
The driver of a white Nissan Patrol, heading south on Wellington Street, allegedly ran a red light at the intersection with Brisbane Street and crashed into a black Mitsubishi Lancer.

The Nissan rolled and came to a rest on its side.
In a statement, Tasmania Police said that there were no injuries as a result of the crash.
The driver was charged with evading police in aggravated circumstances, exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit and reckless driving.
He was bailed to appear in the Launceston Court of Petty Sessions at a later date.
