Thousands of Tasmanians are set to enjoy a free beer at their local pub in coming weeks, with James Boags teaming up with the Tasmanian Hospitality Association to donate $30,000 worth of kegs to venues in regional areas.

James Boags state sales manager John Burchill said it was the least the company could do to support venues doing it tough.
"Everyone at James Boags Brewery and Lion are excited to see patrons back at venues across regional Tasmania," he said.
In other news:
"It's been an incredibly tough year for the industry and we want to make it easy and support publicans and venues to turn the taps on."
Locations including Bridport, Deloraine and George Town are set to benefit.
THA chief executive Steve Old said he hopes the local community will get behind the initiative and support their local venues.
"The opportunity is now for publicans... to welcome back their local clientele and say thanks for their support during COVID, we're back open and giving you a free beer," he said.
