He told The Examiner that the state's debt was "manageable" despite record spending to help Tasmania respond to the COVID economic downturn.
Mr Gutwein described the debt levels as important to assisting the state to have the investment needed, while also adding more housing during a construction blitz, addressing environment concerns with the Tamar River and other infrastructure priorities.
