State Growth Minister Michael Ferguson announced on Wednesday the project would receive $2 million in grant funding.
The project is worth $3 million in total.
The development application to the Dorset Council proposed a pig abattoir at 345 Ten Mile Track, Springfield in June.

The DA noted the abattoir would be built about seven kilometres away from Scottsdale, the nearest town, and more than 500 metres from any residential building.
Scottsdale Pork previously relied on operators at Devonport to process its livestock but JBS Abattoir closed in 2018.
Instead Tasmanian Quality Meats negotiated temporary lease of the processing facility but its lease expired in November 2019 before an extension was granted until July 2020.
