The Defence Connect Australian Defence Industry Awards has named its finalists and Tasmania has punched above its weight for innovation in defence.
Launceston-based AMC is a finalist in three categories - first in the Education Institution of the Year.

It's consultancy arm AMC Search has also been named a finalist in the Prime Contractor of the Year and Regional SME of the Year.
Defence Minister Jeremy Rockliff said the nominations was more recognition of Tasmanian innovation and global reputation for excellence in the sector.
Southern-based company Taylor Bros Marine, based on Prince of Wales bay, is a finalist for Naval Business of the Year in the awards.
That rounds out Tasmania's entries in the international competition, which saw 500 submissions representing 150 businesses across the world.
