All three major cup competitions will stage their semi-finals this weekend with Olympia the opposition for both Launceston teams.
City travel to Warrior Park in the Lakoseljac Cup on Sunday a day after Riverside host an under-20 cup tie at Windsor Park.
City coach Roger Hardwicke will monitor his influential captain who has scored nearly half the team's league goals this season.
"Sam's ankle is playing up again so we'll see how he gets through the week," Hardwicke said.
"But Noah (Mies) should be back (from visiting family in NSW) so we're pretty much close to full strength.
"Only Gedi (Krusa) is unavailable and he won't be back this season but should be ready for next."
Hardwicke is wary of an Olympia team that finished the NPL Tasmania season in fifth, recording back-to-back losses after beating City 4-0 in round 12.
"It's going to be a difficult cup game but it is about us making sure we do what we want to. We acknowledge that they are a good side but also a bit hit and miss.
"The game will be won and lost in the middle so we need to make sure we come out on top in that battle and give ourselves the opportunity to play again next week.
"We've shown when we do turn up and play for 90 minutes we can be quite competitive and I think the guys are looking forward to it.
"From a points perspective, we have not really justified ourselves in the league so we have an opportunity to salvage something out of the season and everyone is keen to do ourselves justice.
"There are signs that we are playing much better and are much closer, the key thing is to put in a 90-minute performance."
Riverside will be without lanky striker Declan Zasadny who has returned to the mainland to pre-season with NPL Victoria side Avondale.
However, attacking midfielder Adam Walker returns after missing the quarter-final win over Devonport with concussion.
With five NPL goals to his name, including the last two fixtures, Fletcher Fulton will represent Olympic's main goal threat.
"It's a semi-final and we are really excited for it," coach Alex Gaetani said.
"We have a bunch of boys with real talent and we want to showcase that and think we can make it to the final.
"I think it is the two most talented sides left in it and should be a really good game."
The competition final may be staged in the North if both Riverside and Somerset progress.
