Former Australian Netball League athlete, Cavaliers premiership player and opens and under-19 coach Dannie Carstens is joining Roden in the opens role - forming a unified dream team.
Having worked together previously, the idea to re-unite grew over the course of the shortened season.
"There hasn't been a lot of time post-season to do your preparations for the next season," Carstens said.
"Lots of conversations and stuff have been going on behind the scenes as the season came to a finish and whilst you're still focusing on the season that's happening at the current time, you really do have to be forward planning about the next season."
Carstens, who gave birth to her second daughter earlier this year, will remain the Cavaliers' director of coaching as well as co-head coach - admitting that finding the balance may be tough.

Despite that, she described taking up the role as "an easy decision".
"For Dan, he can take so much on and obviously he's in St Helens, he's got his oyster farm business, so he's flat out doing that - particularly in the COVID year.
"So it's really important to have someone else in there that's supporting him that is local, that's been in the State League before and knows the program and knows what it's about.
"I suppose it's something that I really wanted to do, not only for my own personal development of continuing to put my PL and all the learning and stuff that I'm doing on the side onto the ground and actually put it into action.
"I think it's important for the opens girls to have experience in those roles coaching them on the ground because you want the most experienced and knowledgeable coaches at the top of the helm."
The Carstens head-coach promotion wasn't the only shift to the Cavaliers' coaching structure with 2019 opens assistant coach Anita Batty dropping back to the 17-and-unders role and assisting with the development academy.
This season's 19-and-unders coach Jamie Easther is also taking a step back from her responsibilities, allowing her assistant Katie O'Neill to assume the head coaching role.
Nicole Manshanden, who has been working with the development academy for three seasons, will slot into O'Neill's previous job.
