Teams from the North, North-West and South of the state ventured to the courts in Launceston for the first showdown of its kind at the park.
Basketball Tasmania Northern development officer Nathan Brereton said 35 teams ageing across under-12s to under-18s competed in the tourney.
"It was a great day ... we had about 300 to 400 people out here I reckon," Brereton said.
"All the kids seemed to enjoy themselves which is great ... we had families down here and the weather was nice."
In other news:
Despite the possibility of poor weather, the sun shone all day making for a heated event on and off the court.
"Two days ago it was pouring with rain so I was a little bit concerned ... but the weather report indicated it would improve by today," Brereton said.
"It was a bit windy, we would have preferred a little less wind, that created some challenges for the athletes and their shooting. If it wasn't for the wind it would have been perfect - we were really happy."
Brereton said the basketball courts at Riverbend Park made for a new and thrilling venue for up-and-coming basketball players to compete at.
"Having it outdoors creates some additional challenges ... but the location we've been able to use in Riverbend Park has been fantastic," Brereton said.
"We're hoping the success from this event will lead to additional entries the next time we have an outdoor three-on-three event."
