The House of Representatives economics committee will probe the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, Australian Securities and Investments Commission and Australian Prudential Regulation Authority in Canberra on Friday.
Committee chair and Liberal MP Tim Wilson said the coronavirus pandemic had created unprecedented disruption and uncertainty in the financial sector.
Mr Wilson said it had also caused problems for people seeking to book travel and make claims on their insurance.
Part of the hearing will involve questions being put to the Australian Energy Regulator.
