I hope your Thursday is going well and you're ready to enjoy some more of what Launceston has to offer over the next week. I know many of you will probably have a few too many this weekend to celebrate the AFL Grand Final in style (sadly neither of those teams are my beloved Essendon, next year boys!).
This week in the newsletter we have highlighted some poetry events included in the Tasmanian Poetry Festival (a women's poetry evening at the Hotel Grand Chancellor and a banquet born from the ashes of COVID), the opening of Oedipus + Antigonê recreated for modern times, Junction's Hometown lineup announcement, and a new bar opening just in time for the AFL grand final.
On the events front, we have created a tally of what is going ahead and what has been cancelled due to the pandemic. You can find this list here. We are aiming to update this in the future as more events step forward with their plans.
As always, if you want to get in touch with me in regards to an arts/what's on story please send an email to dana.anderson@examiner.com.au or call 0419 813 457.
I'll be back in your inbox at the same time next week,
Dana
