An ongoing trial into the 63-year-old's alleged offending over three decades between the 1980s and 2000s was due to proceed to closing comments.
IN OTHER NEWS:
The judge told the jury the trial was, therefore, "not going to be able to proceed".
"In accordance with strict court protocol... he is going immediately for a COVID test," Justice Wood said.
"We are hopeful he will have that result by tomorrow morning. If it can be fast tracked it will be."
The jury was sworn out until 10am Thursday.
