A chartered accountant through the week, Donnelly and Darren Lovell have been responsible for Launceston's matchday statistics every weekend since 2009.
Donnelly likens his role in the dynamic duo to that of a commentator, calling out the player and action while Lovell inputs the possessions into a computer.
"It comes out with kicks, marks, handballs and all the standard statistics but the benefit is that I think we are the only club in the state for a number of years that have done matchday stats," Donnelly said.

"So the coaches have that information available at the end of each quarter, which they value, and they can assess how individual players are going and how the team is going with the KPIs that we keep."
The chartered accountant has had a long affiliation with the Blues, describing the club as a big family thanks to the work of off-field administrators as well as the leadership group and coaches.
He began as a reserves player in 1982, lacing on the boots for 11 years before taking up the role of seniors runner in 1993.
But that's not all, Donnelly has kept all the matchday records of the games he's been a part of throughout his 38 years of involvement - following in the documentation footsteps of former The Examiner sports editor, his father Jack Donnelly.
One of those days that he has several memories of is the 1985 NTFA grand final, the last time North Launceston took on his Blues in the big dance.
"There was a huge buildup that year with the sponsorship conflict that Launceston had different sponsor to the NTFA's sponsor, so there were a lot of things happened through the year that were pretty controversial.
"It all built up and we were successful enough to get through to the grand final and played well on the day.
"I just remember it was a pretty fierce game, lot of reports through it back in the day when football was a lot more physical and pushing the boundaries."
