Lauderdale's Sam Siggins stormed home to snap the streak, which has seen the medal in the hands of Brad Cox-Goodyer (2017) and more recently, Josh Ponting (2018 and 2019).
Siggins, who was on the Adelaide Crows' list from 2012 until 2015, amazingly didn't poll a vote until round seven but four best-on-ground performances steered the ship in the right direction.
FOOTY FINALS FEVER
He amassed 14 votes for the season (scored in just seven rounds) to take out the best-and-fairest honour ahead of Launceston's Jobi Harper and Kingborough's Kieran Lovell, who both finished on 11.
The 26-year-old was three votes behind the leading pair at the end of round 11 before consecutive starring roles gave him the win.
