The council will develop a swimming pool strategy plan and use a survey and three community consultations this month, run by consultancy firm Watershed Solutions, to gain insight into each town's perspective on their pool's future.

In a release, the council said the main challenges it was facing were maintenance, compliance, and meeting needs and expectations.
"We are unable to continue to duplicate the significant funds required to cover the significant and ongoing costs of upkeep, maintenance, and improvements," it said.
"We acknowledge and respect that the communities of Cressy, Ross and Campbell Town all have different needs and aspirations regarding their swimming pools.
"To ensure that these needs and aspirations can be incorporated into our Swimming Pool Strategy, we have engaged ... Watershed Solutions to work with the communities ... to gain an insight into each communities perspective on the future of their local pool."

The survey will be available on the council's website or via a letterbox drop from pool committees and must be returned to the council by 4.30pm, November 6.
The community consultations are at 6.30pm - 8pm on:
- October 19: Ross Town Hall
- October 22: Cressy Memorial Hall
- October 29: Campbell Town War Memorial Oval
